LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — For the first time in a generation, there is hope that the uncomfortable television rights situation that has loomed over the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles may finally dissipate.
Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred said Thursday that the pending sale of the Orioles at least raises the possibility of the Nationals dislodging their local television rights from under the thumb of the Orioles for the first time since the franchise relocated from Montreal in 2005.
