President Biden has tested positive for the coronavirus, starkly illustrating the reach of a pandemic that has killed more than 1 million Americans and left few untouched, though he is experiencing “very mild symptoms,” the White House said Thursday.

Biden, who at 79 is in a relatively high-risk group, experienced a runny nose, fatigue and a dry cough beginning Wednesday evening, according to White House physician Kevin O’Connor. Biden immediately canceled a planned trip to Pennsylvania on Thursday and will isolate at the White House for at least five days.
