Sarah Dash, a founder of the hitmaking singing trio Labelle, dies at 76

Sarah Dash, a singer who co-founded the all-female group Labelle — best known for the raucous 1974 hit “Lady Marmalade” — died Sept. 20 at 76.

Patti LaBelle and Nona Hendryx, the other members of the trio, announced Ms. Dash’s death on social media. No cause of death was disclosed.
