Videos released this week revealed details about a fatal shooting last month that involved a New Mexico State basketball player on the Albuquerque campus of the University of New Mexico.
According to police, an exchange of gunfire in the early hours of Nov. 19 left Aggies forward Mike Peake hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his leg and resulted in the death of a University of New Mexico student. Two other UNM students alleged to have been involved in the incident, one of them a 17-year-old girl, were arrested and charged in connection with what police described as a planned assault on Peake meant to serve as retribution for a previous incident of violence.
