Seconds after the final buzzer sounded in George Mason’s stunning 86-84 overtime victory over Connecticut in the 2006 East Region final, Patriots Coach Jim Larrañaga sprinted past me en route to his team’s postgame celebration.

Pausing for a moment, he shouted, “I can’t wait to see Nantz and Packer in Indianapolis!”
