Ed Farmer, White Sox reliever turned broadcaster, dies at 70

Ed Farmer, who pitched for his hometown Chicago White Sox and other teams and later spent nearly 30 years as a White Sox radio broadcaster, died April 1 at a hospital near Los Angeles. He was 70.

The White Sox announced the death without citing a specific cause. He had battled polycystic kidney disease for many years.
