The Washington Post today announced Voraciously’s “Essential Cookbooks” newsletter, an email series providing the necessary tools for cooking with advance culinary techniques and guidance on everyday recipes from a variety of skilled chefs. Starting Monday, June 1, the Voraciously staff will feature 10 selected cookbooks that are considered vital for home cooks.

“We’re big fans of great cookbooks, old and new, and really want to help readers understand why certain books can be so essential to the way they cook now,” said Joe Yonan, The Post’s Food Editor. “Especially when we’re so starved for connection, we also want to use this newsletter as a way to build even more community and to foster dialogue among readers who might otherwise not come together.”

Each week, the newsletter will showcase a cookbook, introducing readers to techniques, ingredients and flavor combinations that they can apply. Chefs can also enrich their day-to-day cooking with featured cookbook recipes that they can add to their rotations.
