Current and former federal employees and military personnel will have more options starting Sunday when withdrawing money from their retirement accounts.

The Thrift Savings Plan will begin offering new choices in a move to make it operate more like other tax-favored savings plans.

“We think our participants are going to like this, and we think this will answer a lot of participants’ requests for flexibility” in withdrawals, said TSP executive director Ravindra Deo.
