For most residents of the Windy City, Monday night’s storms didn’t seem to be anything out of the ordinary. But for Chicago-based freelance videographer Craig Shimala, the storms that rolled through afforded the shot of a lifetime.

The video, shot from Shimala’s fifth-floor balcony, is electrifying. Not one, two or three — but four lightning bolts zap the city’s tallest buildings all at once in a dazzling display of electrical discharge.
