I am not sure I could describe today’s weather any better than this photo. I hope you got a chance to get outside today to enjoy the near perfect weather. A warm front will slowly approach the region tomorrow, which will bring slightly warmer temperatures but an increase in cloud cover and some scattered showers late.

Through tonight: A lovely early spring evening, with mostly clear skies and mild temperatures. Temperatures will slowly fall through the 60s through sunset, with overnight lows settling in the upper 40s to low 50s under partly cloudy skies.

Tomorrow (Sunday): Increasing clouds as the day progresses, eventually becoming mostly cloudy by the afternoon. Slightly warmer than Saturday, with afternoon highs in the low 70s, under a light south wind at 10 mph. Scattered showers develop by the evening, but otherwise remaining quite mild, with lows in the mid- to upper 50s.

Unsettled weather ahead? Two of our favorite teleconnection indexes are about to fall to values not commonly seen during the month of April. What exactly does that mean? Expect a rather transient and stormy weather pattern over the next few weeks.
AO and NAO indices are forecast to dip -3 and -1.5 next week, respectively. How rare situation would this be?

Without going into too much atmospheric dynamics, the negative alignment of these two indexes may in fact “lock in” the unsettled weather pattern for an extended period of time.
