Jared Kushner, the son-in-law and a senior adviser to President Trump, is scheduled to address congressional interns in a closed-door lecture next week.

Kushner’s appearance is part of the Summer Intern Lecture Series, which typically features lawmakers addressing the young flock of college-age staffers who flood Capitol Hill each summer.

Also set to address interns next week on separate occasions are House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), as well as House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) and Sens. John Boozman (R-Ark.), Thomas R. Carper (D-Del.) and Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.).

The talk comes as Kushner’s participation in a June 2016 meeting with a lawyer tied to Russian President Vladimir V. Putin, as well as a Russian American lobbyist, has heightened scrutiny over the Trump campaign’s dealings with Russia. The meeting was organized by the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., after an acquaintance told him the lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, could have information damaging to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

In a sign that organizers expect a sizable crowd, the talk is scheduled to be held in the auditorium of the Capitol Visitor Center, one of the largest event spaces on the Hill. Only Ryan’s appearance is also set for that room.

“ALL LECTURES ARE SUBJECT TO SCHEDULE CHANGES AND CONSIDERED OFF-THE-RECORD,” the notice advises.

Aides in three congressional offices confirmed they received the notice of Kushner’s appearance. Representatives for Kushner and for the House Administration Committee, which organizes the lecture series, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
