AS VLADIMIR PUTIN cruised to presidential victory Sunday, the name that trailed him more closely than distant runner-up Grudinin was Novichok.

Communist Party challenger Pavel Grudinin couldn’t muster 13 percent of the vote after most of the ballots were counted, according to the Central Election Commission; Putin garnered more than 75 percent.
