Announcement from Kris Coratti, Vice President of Communications and Events:

We are thrilled to announce that Michael Falcone will join the Washington Post Live team as executive producer. He brings an incredible wealth of ideas and a strong news background to this role. As the editorial lead of our team, he will help us as we continue to grow Live as the place for newsmakers to sit down on the biggest topics of the day.

Michael joins us after more than six years at ABC News where he served as Deputy Political Director and, most recently, Senior Washington Editor. In that role, he helped spearhead the network’s digital coverage in Washington and on the 2016 presidential campaign trail, overseeing a team of reporters producing text, video and social media content. During those years, he was also the lead writer of ABC’s long-running politics newsletter, The Note. Before ABC, Michael was Politics Editor at The Huffington Post and a reporter at POLITICO and The New York Times.

Michael has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and English from UCLA and a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Michael begins May 1.
