“What I'm saying is that I will tell you at the time. I'll keep you in suspense.”
Trump on accepting a loss
Attacks

Hillary Clinton

Clinton accused Donald Trump of being Putin's “puppet” and of hiring undocumented workers, while the Republican nominee said she was a “nasty woman” and called the Clinton Foundation “a criminal enterprise.”

“Something happened recently where Justice Ginsburg made some very, very inappropriate statements toward me and toward a tremendous number of people, many, many millions of people that I represent. And she was forced to apologize. And apologize she did. But these were statements that should never, ever have been made.”
“I believe if my opponent should win this race, which I truly don't think will happen, we will have a Second Amendment which will be a very, very small replica of what it is right now. ”
“If you go with what Hillary is saying, in the ninth month, you can take the baby and rip the baby out of the womb of the mother just prior to the birth of the baby.”
“He choked.”
Clinton accused Trump of failing to tell Mexico that it will pay for a wall between the two countries during a meeting he had this year with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto. Trump said that he didn’t raise the issue with Peña Nieto. But Peña Nieto said that they discussed it and he told Trump that Mexico would not pay for the wall.
“Hillary Clinton wanted the wall. Hillary Clinton fought for the wall in 2006 or thereabouts. Now, she never gets anything done, so naturally the wall wasn't built. But Hillary Clinton wanted the wall.”
“He used undocumented labor to build the Trump Tower.”
Clinton is referring to reports that undocumented Polish workers were used to demolish a tower that later became the site of the new Trump tower.
“That was a great pivot off the fact that she wants open borders, okay? How did we get on to Putin?
“[Putin] has no respect for her. He has no respect for our president.”
“He’d rather have a puppet as president of the United States.”
Clinton was referring to her claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin is interfering with the U.S. election in order to boost Trump’s candidacy. Clinton has said that Trump’s praise for Putin and support for Putin's positions on some foreign policy issues only furthers the Russian leaders agenda and undermines the United States.
“No puppet. No puppet. You're the puppet! No, you're the puppet.”
“She doesn't like Putin because Putin has outsmarted her at every step of the way.”
“Look, she's been proven to be a liar on so many different ways. This is just another lie.”
“There's only one of us on this stage who's actually shipped jobs to Mexico, because that's Donald.”
Clinton appears to be referring to Trump's use of factories in Mexico to manufacture his Trump clothing line.
“The Trump Hotel right here in Las Vegas was made with Chinese steel. So he goes around with crocodile tears about how terrible it is, but he has given jobs to Chinese steelworkers, not American steelworkers.”
Clinton has repeatedly criticized Trump for using steel from China to build his buildings. She has broadly criticized China for ”dumping” its steel in U.S. markets at below the price of production.
“Let me ask a simple question. She's been doing this for 30 years. Why the hell didn't you do it over the last 15, 20 years?”
“I say the one thing you have over me is experience, but it's bad experience, because what you've done has turned out badly.”
“The problem is, you talk, but you don't get anything done, Hillary.”
“Donald thinks belittling women makes him bigger.”
Clinton is referring to Trump's comments about several women, including the former Miss Universe Alicia Machado and several of the women who have accused him of sexual misconduct.
“He never apologizes or says he's sorry for anything.”
Clinton was responding to Trump claiming that her campaign was responsible for new women coming forward to accuse him of sexual misconduct.
“He incites violence, where he applauds people who are pushing and pulling and punching at his rallies.”
Trump has told his supporters that he wants to ”punch” protesters at his rallies in the face. There have also been numerous reports of violence at Trump's rallies.
[On the Clinton Foundation] “It's a criminal enterprise, and so many people know it.”
“There's no way we can know whether any of that is true, because he hasn't released his tax returns.”
Clinton criticizes Trump for claiming that he made charitable donations without releasing his tax returns.
“The media is so dishonest and so corrupt, and the pile-on is so amazing.”
“There was even a time when he didn't get an Emmy for his TV program three years in a row and he started tweeting that the Emmys were rigged against him.”
Clinton compared Trump's claim that the election has been rigged against him simply because it didn't go his way to his claim that the Emmys were rigged against him.
[On Mosul fight] “The only reason they did it is because she’s running. ... They want to look tough, they want to look good.”
There is no evidence of this. Further, to the extent the United States influenced an essentially Iraqi decision, the Obama administration would see this as a legacy issue.
“He always is looking for some conspiracy.”
Clinton admonished Trump for his claim that the Iraqi government is trying to help her win the election by launching an attack to take the city of Mosul back from the Islamic State.
“John Podesta said you have terrible instincts. Bernie Sanders said you have bad judgment. I agree with both.”
Trump was citing an email leaked by WikiLeaks in which Center for American Progress President Neera Tanden referred to Clinton's instincts as ”suboptimal” in an email to Podesta, Clinton's campaign chairman. He did not make the comments himself.
“You should ask Bernie Sanders who he's supporting for president.”
Clinton responds after Trump quotes Bernie Sanders, who once said that Clinton has ”bad judgment.”
“[Assad] is just much tougher and much smarter than her and Obama.”
[On Syrian refugees] “Wait until you see what happens in the coming years. Lots of luck, Hillary. Thanks a lot for doing a great job.”
“He was criticizing President Reagan.”
In 1987, Trump took out a full page ad in the New York Times, criticizing Republican President Ronald Reagan's foreign policy. Clinton was making the case that Trump's criticism of U.S. foreign policy isn't unique to Democratic administrations.
“Such a nasty woman.”
First debate

The most memorable moments of the very anticipated first presidential debate of this election included Trump defending stop-and-frisk and Clinton bringing up Alicia Machado.

Second debate

Trump brought to the debate four women who accused Bill Clinton of sexual assault, just a couple of days after a tape showing Trump and Billy Bush during a lewd conversation emerged.

Questionable statements

“Drugs are pouring in through the border. We have no country if we have no border.”
This claim is not supported by data.
“I do want us to have an electric grid, an energy system that crosses borders.”
Clinton was defending her advocacy for “open borders” in an excerpt of a paid speech that was leaked as part of thousand of emails that were hacked from her campaign chairman’s account. The speech excerpts are not 100 percent clear that she was talking only about energy.
“I never met Putin. This is not my best friend. But if the United States got along with Russia, wouldn't be so bad.”
Trump has recently denied ever speaking with Putin and has denied knowing him. In the past, he had played up his relatinship with Putin.
“There's no quote. You're not going to find a quote from me. ... I didn't say nuclear.”
Trump, responding to Clinton accusing him of saying speaking flippantly about nuclear warfare, quoted him saying, ”Enjoy yourselves, folks.” Trump denied it but, in fact, he said ”Folks, enjoy yourselves,” on that topic during a campaign event in Wisconsin in April.
“Before I start on my plan, her plan is going to raise taxes and even double your taxes. Her tax plan is a disaster.”
Clinton has proposed raising taxes — but only on the richest Americans, in households earning more than $209,000 a year.
“I also will not add a penny to the debt.”
Clinton has repeatedly claimed that she will not add “a penny” to the national debt, but independent policy experts say that her plans would add about $9 trillion to the debt. Her policies are usually paid for with corresponding tax increases, but her policies would not prevent the national debt from increasing any more than it is expected to.
“When you ran the State Department, $6 billion was missing. How do you miss $6 billion? You ran the State Department, $6 billion was either stolen. They don't know. It's gone, $6 billion.”
“She gave us ISIS as sure as you are sitting there. And what happened is now ISIS is in 32 countries. And now I listen how she's going to get rid of ISIS. She's going to get rid of nobody.”
The statement that Clinton's policies led to the rise of the Islamic State has been rated false by independent fact checkers. It is also unclear what evidence Trump has to support the claim that ISIS is in 32 countries.
“First of all, those stories have been largely debunked. Those people, I don't know those people. I have a feeling how they came. I believe it was her campaign that did it.”
There has been little credible evidence debunking the claims made by women who accuse Trump of sexual harassment and assault.
“She's the one and Obama that caused the violence. They hired people ... and they're on tape saying, be violent, cause fights, do bad things.”
There is no evidence connecting Hillary Clinton or President Obama to the violence at Trump rallies.
“I did not say that. I did not say that. I did not say that.”
Trump denied that he commented on the physical appearance of several women accusing him of sexual asasult. He has in fact suggested several times this week that he would not have been interested in them because of their appearance.
“Well, everything I did as secretary of state was in furtherance of our country's interests and our values. The State Department has said that. I think that's been proven.”
Clinton was answering a question about the appearance of favorable treatment by the State Department on behalf of Clinton Foundation donors. It is not clear who exactly proved that everything she did as secretary of state furthered the country's interests.
“Trump Foundation, small foundation. People contribute, I contribute.”
In tax records, the last gift to the Trump Foundation from Trump himself was in 2008.
“No, it was, we put up the American flag. And that's it. They put up the American flag. We fought for the right in Palm Beach to put up the American flag.”
Trump has in fact used money from his foundation to settle legal problems, including penalties in Palm Beach over the height of a flag pole at Mar-a-Lago amounting to $120,000.
“Millions of people that are registered to vote that shouldn't be registered to vote.”
There is no evidence supporting Trump's claims of widespread voter fraud. In fact, studies into voting suggest the contrary.
“Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.”
Trump has regularly denied that he initially supported the Iraq War. Independent fact checkers have debunked that claim.
“I pay for everything I’m proposing.”
Most of Clinton's policy proposals are paid for with tax increases, but in many cases, her campaign has not been specific about which tax increases would be used to pay for all of her programs.
New positions

Hillary Clinton
“One of my first acts will be to get all of the drug lords, all of the bad ones — we have some bad, bad people in this country that have to go out. We're going to get them out; we're going to secure the border. And once the border is secured, at a later date, we'll make a determination as to the rest.”
Trump's deportation policies, as outlined in previous speeches, includes immediate deportation of undocumented immigrants who have committed crimes and those who have overstayed visas. Though he did not mention the latter, it adds millions of individuals to the number he would seek to immediately deport.
“President Obama has moved millions of people out. Nobody knows about it, nobody talks about it. But under Obama, millions of people have been moved out of this country. They've been deported. She doesn't want to say that, but that's what's happened, and that's what happened big league.
Trump has often blasted the Obama administration on immigration policy and has made weak immigration policies a central message in his campaign.
