Patriots great Kevin Faulk wearing a Tom Brady jersey at draft is simply perfect

Your average Patriots fan already thinks four-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady walks on water, but former New England running back Kevin Faulk took his admiration to another level on Friday night.

Standing at the dais at the NFL draft in Chicago, Faulk prepared to announce the Patriots’ third-round pick with a Tom Brady jersey showing underneath his jacket.

And he made that pick with style: “The New England Patriots and Tom Brady select Joe Thuney, linebacker, North Carolina State!”

There’s no question Brady is synonymous with the Patriots, but is it possible he has risen to the rank of general manager? (He hasn’t.)

But what does make sense is Faulk supporting his former teammate four days after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit reinstated the NFL’s four-game suspension of Brady in the latest edition of the story that refuses to run out of steam: Deflategate.

As part of that decision, New England also surrendered its first-round pick.

Originally a second-round pick of the Patriots out of Louisiana State, Faulk won three Super Bowls with New England. As a versatile back with soft hands, Faulk finished with more yards receiving (3,701) than rushing (3,607) in his 13-year career.
